Innsbrook Golf Tournament to Benefit Veterans’ Families
Innsbrook and Woods Fort are bringing a new golf tournament to the St. Louis area to benefit Folds of Honor, an organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members.
The tournament will take place at Innsbrook’s golf course, just 45 minutes west of St. Louis, on Monday, October 23 with a noon shotgun start.
“This will be a great day of golf for a great cause,” said Innsbrook PGA Head Golf Pro Kevin Corn. “The Innsbrook course is looking better than ever and we are honored to help support our local military families through hosting this event.”
For $125, players receive green and cart fees, lunch, dinner, on-course drinks, a tee gift and prizes, and a donation is made to Folds of Honor. Prizes will be awarded for first and second in each flight, closest to the pin and long drive. Non-golfers can join the post-tournament dinner for an additional donation.
“As we all know, freedom is not free, and at the Folds of Honor, we are proud to partner with Innsbrook and Woods Fort in making sure that our nation’s heroes and their families are not left behind on the field of battle or on the homefront," said Major Ed Pulido, co-founding member and senior vice president of the Folds of Honor. “Together, we can honor the sacrifice made by our service members and their families by helping take care of them here at home. May God bless Innsbrook and may God bless the United States of America. Hoorah!”
Pulido, a Purple Heart recipient, will also speak at the tournament about the positive impact of the money raised for Folds of Honor, which stays in the local community if there is an eligible recipient here.
Innsbrook also encourages players to reserve their round on Labor Day Weekend to benefit Patriot Golf Day, another Folds of Honor fundraiser. Throughout the holiday weekend, golfers are asked to donate a minimum of $1 to Folds of Honor. Those who donate $40 will get a free golf lesson from Innsbrook's PGA head golf pro.
Patriot Golf Day is the largest grassroots golf fundraiser in America and the money stays local to the St. Louis area if it’s needed here.
Other supporting organizations of the Folds of Honor tournament include title sponsor People’s Bank and Trust in Troy, Mo.
