Our 2020 Dream Wedding Winners!
Tell us about you and your partner
Lee decided to put a ring on it, on November 1, 2019! It is now February and we do not even have a date or venue picked out!!! I am 28 years old and Lee is 35. Lee works for Apple and I am a Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Detective here in St. Louis, MO. I was born and raised in Florissant, Missouri and Lee is a transplant from Indianapolis, Indiana (...hoosier) but was basically raised here in St. Louis. We live in St. Louis and have one furbaby, a Frenchie named Tito (yes, after the vodka). Lee attended college at SEMO and I attended college at Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois where I played soccer. We both love being outdoors, riding motorcycles, fourwheelers, kayaking, etc. but you may catch us at one of the many arcade bars here in St. Louis.
Tell us how you met
LEE SLID INTO THE DM'S!That's right. He sent me a direct message on Instagram and the rest is history. I had been a little down on my luck in the dating scene and Lee was in California when we had first began sending messages back and forth. It was time for Lee to come back to St. Louis and his brother had bought a vintage car where Lee was staying and chose to drive it back home for him. California to St. Louis is a LONG drive. At the time I was working night shift and Lee happened to be driving home in the middle of the night. We talked on the phone and I tried to eliminate him in every single way by asking him awful first date questions immediately (who am I!?) politics, religion, food choices, hobbies, drug usage, etc. (LOL) To my surprise everything had aligned. I couldn't eliminate him just yet. We set up a first date, which happened to be an 8 hour date and the best first date of my life! We went to get Mexican for dinner, went to START bar, Southtown Pub, and we shut down Bombers.
Tell us about the proposal
Two Words: Paris, France. Lee and I planned our second trip out of the country together (our first passport stamps and trip out of the country was together in 2018 to Mexico) to Ireland and Paris, France for our birthdays in 2019.
A little backstory, I became ordained in July of 2019 and got to marry one of my best friends. This was the first time Lee had brought up marriage and asked me what type of ring I had liked. I remember feeling so excited I could have busted open with joy. ..but he hadn't mentioned anything since.
Anywho, on the very last day of our trip, I was sick as a dog, we had one more place we wanted to see. The Lover's Lock Bridge. We had passed under this bridge the night before and I told Lee I wanted to go back. After walking in the rain we finally made it to the bridge. We placed our lock on, made a wish, and threw the key into the river. As soon as I looked over, Lee was down on one knee with a ring in his hand. I HAD GOTTEN MY WISH!
Tell us about your dream wedding
As a kid, I dreamed of a fairytale princess wedding... Now as a working adult, I've come to realize a carriage ride isn't cheap honey! Innsbrook offers everything we are wanting for one of the best days of our lives! Not only is it not too far out to where my #1 guest, my grandma, wouldn't be able to make it, but the beautiful outdoor reception and indoor dining area for dinner and drinks are truly what we've envisioned. And the best part, you already have the date picked for us!
Losing my dad in 2018 to lung cancer has made this whole process of wedding planning just a little off. Imagining my wedding and him not being there to walk me down the aisle upsets me. Luckily, I know Lee's dad and step-dad would be more than happy to walk me down the aisle. Winning this Dream Wedding Giveaway would allow us to alleviate the pressures of planning a wedding and allow us to put more money down towards a house in this awful sellers market!
