Innsbrook Corporation has risen to the challenge presented by the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation and donated $5,000 as part of Give STL Day, celebrated on May 6. Give STL Day is the region’s first-ever 24-hour online day of giving to benefit the local nonprofit community.
“Innsbrook Corporation has been a regular donor to many charities over the years as a method to give back to our community,” said Les Buechele, Innsbrook Corporation CEO. “We are grateful to the St. Louis marketplace that has patronized our resort and this is a chance to show our appreciation for their faith in us.”
Buechele also served as chairman of the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation’s board for three years, ending in 2009.
“The Community Foundation provides a very important service to St. Louis and this Give STL Day is just one small example of their ability to mobilize dollars for the greater good,” said Buechele.
Innsbrook’s donation will be made during the 2 p.m. “Power Hour” – one of six such hours during which all donations received will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000. Innsbrook challenged the Community Foundation’s Board to match the $5,000 donation and then offer the $10,000 as a match to all donations that are received within the Power Hour.
“Give STL Day draws attention to the needs of St. Louis non-profits, as well as the positive things they are doing throughout the community,” said Amelia Bond, president and CEO of the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation.
Similar fundraising initiatives are being undertaken the same day by approximately 100 community foundations nationwide.
