INNSBROOK, MO (June 8, 2021) – Since 1991, Innsbrook has provided property owners with collectible ‘Innsbrook Anniversary Cups’ at their annual Anniversary Party each year. As Innsbrook celebrated their monumental 50th anniversary year on May 29, 2021, the cup tradition was re-shaped to help support a local charity, Concerned Citizens for Animal Care (C.C.A.C), for construction of a no-kill animal shelter, Wags and Whiskers, on Highway M near Innsbrook Resort in Warren County. The Innsbrook Owners Association sold 4,725 anniversary cups, yielding $1,500 in proceeds which was donated to the new animal shelter.
Over the past 30 years, the anniversary cups have become a signature item to the Innsbrook community, with more than a few families proudly owning a complete collection. When the annual anniversary party was cancelled in 2020 due to the global pandemic, the Innsbrook Owners Association found a new way to carry on the treasured tradition.
“We really wanted to carry on the cup tradition, but it seemed odd for us to produce the cups without a purpose,” said Charlie Boyce, chairman and CEO of Innsbrook. “That is when we decided to put a small price on each cup ordered and all net proceeds would go to charity. This year, our 50th anniversary celebration helped re-shape our traditions with the new, customizable cups and, now, continuing to provide for a local charity.”
Charlie Boyce presented a $1,500 check to leaders of C.C.A.C at the conclusion of the Anniversary Party. The check represented the donation of proceeds from cup sales to help build the shelter.
C.C.A.C is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2001, whose mission is to build and operate the animal shelter in Warren County. The shelter will be able to accommodate 25 dogs and 25 cats, while also providing support for those who cannot afford proper care and maintenance for their pets. With some C.C.A.C members being Innsbrook residents who currently or have previously rescued animals in the area, the organization easily recognized the overwhelming need for a local shelter, and has since held many fundraising events and raised awareness for the cause.
“Many Innsbrook residents have been long-time supporters and donors to C.C.A.C fundraisers, and with the location of the new shelter being so perfectly close to the Innsbrook community, it provides the shelter with built-in volunteers in a sense,” said Tracy Sator, C.C.A.C Board Member and Innsbrook resident. “Part of our mission is to provide community programs that educate for healthy and responsible pet care, pet safety through spay/neuter and microchipping events and working to keep pets and their people together. We encourage Warren County residents to visit our website to sign up to volunteer to help us meet these goals.”
